Hinduism and Humanism: A Sanatan Perspective


Hinduism, often referred to as Sanatan Dharma, is the world's oldest and most timeless philosophy. It is a way of life that harmonizes the individual's existence with the universe, promoting global welfare and the well-being of all living beings. Sanatan Dharma is rooted in the principles of scientific inquiry, observation, and experimentation, making it a rational and logical approach to understanding the world.


At its core, Hinduism is humanism. It recognizes the inherent value and dignity of every human being, regardless of their background, caste, or creed. The Vedas, the sacred texts of Hinduism, proclaim the universal message of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" – the world is one family. This philosophy promotes unity, compassion, and empathy, encouraging individuals to work towards the betterment of society.


However, despite its profound teachings, Hinduism has faced degradation over the centuries. The primary reasons for this decline can be attributed to the imposition of foreign rules and the distortion of Hindu scriptures. During the colonial era, Hinduism was misrepresented and misunderstood by Western scholars, who often viewed it through the lens of their own cultural biases.


The Indian government's policies have also contributed to the erosion of Hindu values. The imposition of secularism, while intended to promote equality, has often led to the marginalization of Hinduism. The lack of emphasis on Hindu studies and the promotion of Western ideologies have further contributed to the decline of Hindu values.


To revive the glory of Sanatan Dharma, it is essential to promote Hindu studies, encourage critical thinking, and foster a sense of national pride. By embracing our rich cultural heritage and values, we can work towards creating a more harmonious and equitable society.


In conclusion, Hinduism, as a Sanatan philosophy, offers a unique blend of scientific inquiry, humanism, and universal values. By understanding and embracing its teachings, we can work towards creating a better world for all living beings.


It's time for the revival of Sanatan Dharma! Let's join hands to rediscover, promote, and practice the timeless principles of Hinduism. Together, we can create a brighter future for ourselves and for generations to come.
