One-year Bachelor of Education course
The one-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course is set to make a comeback after a decade-long hiatus, aligning with the recommendations of the New Education Policy. This development is a welcome boon for aspiring teachers, but it comes with specific eligibility criteria that must be met.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the one-year B.Ed course, candidates must fulfill one of the following conditions:
1. Completion of a four-year undergraduate course
2. Possession of a postgraduate degree
Only candidates who have completed a four-year undergraduate degree or hold a postgraduate degree are eligible to enroll in the program.
Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP)
The ITEP is a four-year teacher training course developed by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Currently, this course is offered at 64 locations across the country, enabling students to pursue a B.Ed in their chosen subject.

1. The one-year B.Ed course was discontinued in 2014, with the final batch admitted in 2015.
2. The NCTE has announced the approval of the Governing Body's new regulations for 2025.
3. The one-year B.Ed course aims to provide comprehensive training in pedagogy, educational psychology, classroom management, and subject-specific teaching methods.
