Geographical Position

India is situated in the northern hemisphere. The Tropic of Cancer (23°30'N) passes through the middle of the country.


Boundaries

India shares its boundaries with:


- Pakistan and Afghanistan in the west

- China, Nepal, and Bhutan in the north

- Myanmar and Bangladesh in the east

India's coastline stretches for approximately 11,098 kilometers, bordering:


- Arabian Sea in the west

India follows a single time zone, Indian Standard Time (IST), which is based on the 82°30'E meridian passing through Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh. Despite this, there is a two-hour time lag between Gujarat and Arunachal Pradesh.
